about

Scythian's "Suffering to the Conquered" demo was rated by some metal zines and magazines as one of the best demos of 2007 - it was an arrogant, merciless release created out of spite for the UK scene, which in 2007, was awash with shit grindcore, mediocre death metal and hilarious copy bands.

Outside of this musical gutter, guitarist A. Von Moller (aka A. Satyrus) and drummer J.C. Volgard composed a work they believed would smash the metal underground into submission (it didn't, but made a good impression). After two years of painful rehearsal room jams, the band collided with vocalist S.Vrath, who took command of bass and vocals.

With the lineup complete, Scythian became a serious concept and began to perform around the UK and Ireland, billed with the likes of Master, Negura Bunget, Gospel of the Horns, Grave Miasma and Fen, earning a slot on a European with Spearhead and Impiety. On the strength of this demo, their travels took them as far as the Crimea, Ukraine, to play a set at Metalhead's Mission Festival.
